Water damage

The washer and dryer can be the hardest working machine in your home sometimes. The average American family does about 300 loads of laundry a year! That is a lot for one machine to go through in a year. With so much use can come some wear and tear on your washer, which can lead to problems and possibly even water leaking into your home. There are a couple of things you can do to help keep your washing machine in tip top shape and to help prevent any leaking or water damage to your home.
- If your washer is an older machine the hoses can become worn out. Be sure to check the hoses occasionally to make sure they haven become worn or brittle causing water to leak.
- Don’t overload the washing machine. I know we all love to get as much in there as possible to get the laundry done quicker, but this can cause the washer to overfill and then it can overflow onto the floor or walls.
- Use the correct amount of detergent. Adding too much detergent can cause excess suds which can lead to it overflowing out of the machine. Be sure to read the label and follow the directions of how much detergent you should use for each load.
